    Dancing Queen Saturday, December 23, 2006 |

Last night R and I attended a festive celebration...the blessed union of two good friends of ours, Chad and Laura. They both looked beautiful, smelled nice, and were very photogenic. Happy marriage Chad and Laura. My friend Ben is getting married in eight days. He has a bit of a reputation for "embarassing" the one he will spend the rest of his life with. Last night his bethrothed asked him to "get it out of his system" before next weekend. The following video is a small snippet of what was in his system. The unfortunate thrusting is not Tourettes syndrome...it is some snappy dance moves. Lindsey, I'm sorry to put you through this. Enjoy.

    Music |

I've been called a music snob. I don't know what that means. I can be a touch judgemental about music...but who isn't? I am merely fortunate that I enjoy fantastic music that is thoughtfully written with actual lyrics that make sense. Case in point...yesterday I had the misfortune of overhearing a new pop song titled Fergilicious. BTW, I could care less if I spelled it right, since the song is as mindless as my Jack Russell barking at light (his mortal enemy). I digress. This is not an "all music should challenge (you)/inspire (you)/call (you) to arms/enlighten (you)/cajole (you)" type of post. You, reader who does not yet exist, are allowed to listen to anything you like. But WHY would anyone EVER willfully choose a song about how hot the singer believes she is, and subsequently said hotness now must inspire a new word to be inserted in the English lexicon? Stunning. I have a feeling I will routinely provide some insight into my current music preferences and what music is actually accomplishing something in my life. Why else would I listen? Point being...no need to waste time on music that is crap. Fergilicious=crap. Not crap? Only Love by Griffin House. Click on the title, put on your headphones, and consider what he's saying. THAT'S music worth listening too. Plus, Grif is cool too...like a double special treat...

2:04 am Saturday morning December 23rd 2006. Chad and Laura are married. My wife is asleep. Listening to AP. Contemplating what a "simple life" looks like. Never thought I'd blog. Looks like I am. C'est la vie...
